'There has been a Band in Sidmouth for over 150 years, with the earliest record being a picture of the band taken in 1862 ... Thanks to the dedication and hard work of both the Band and the Musical Director ... we got promoted to the Third Section in 2008, progressed to the Second Section in 2012 and gained promotion to the First Section from January 2017 ... In addition to competing in contests throughout the year, we hold regular summer concerts ... Sidmouth Town Band has a close relationship with the town council and local community.'
