‘A 5-14 piece brass ensemble based in the South West ... who originally got together in 1977 to perform a charity concert to demonstrate that an entertaining programme with a wide range of styles and a dynamic sound can be best produced by a group of ten or eleven players. After a succesful concert it was decided to form Bold Brass. Some of the original members remain as well as some newbies that have only been around for twenty odd years. They continue to perform their own syle of versatile and entertaining programmes which have been enthusiastically received.’

‘A group of orchestral brass musicians mainly based in the Sutton Coldfield area of Birmingham. We are rapidly gaining a reputation for the variety and quality of our performances. We mainly appear in the 10 piece format made popular by the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble and subsequently London Brass, though we have been known to appear with as many as 25 performers on stage! We aim to make our music as approachable and enjoyable as possible, but we always try to introduce our audiences to less well known or new music.’
