@ St Augustine’s Dumbarton
Listing Details
‘The music at St Augustine’s is varied and usually modern, using Hymns Old and New, Complete Mission Praise, punctuated with Taize chants, and anything else that inspires us and makes our worship uplifting and joyful! We mix and match the old favourites with contemporary stuff, and it seems to work out well! Our wonderful pipe organ is in desperate need of restoration, and this may happen after we find the £100,000 needed to restore it! Meanwhile we have a lively Music Group that includes a clavinova, guitars, clarinet, vocalists, and the occasional African drum! We make a bonnie noise ... The acoustics in St Augustine’s are wonderful, and various bands and choirs have recorded their material in our building. There is also an Accoustic Night in church on the second Friday of every month where local talent come along and sing and or play.’
