‘From the Festival's commencement the artistic policy has been to concentrate on musical excellence (rather than the "star system") and to champion spontaneous creativity: music making on the spot in Edinburgh. These virtues have been developed in the 21st Century with the production of a wide range of new music, the establishment of the Edinburgh Jazz Festival Orchestra, and an on-going commitment to supporting Scottish musicians to realise creative ideas, and to link with international musicians. Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival has also grown its world outlook, presenting high quality musicians from all over the world.‘ Held Mid July.

Held Mid November: ‘Over the years, the Festival has made a steady transition from north London to London-wide, and from May to its present November slot, to establish today's multi-faceted 10 day event. It has grown to be not only London's largest city-wide music festival, but one of the major international jazz events. The highlights have been many - each year brings its own character and momentum, and the riches of the Festival can as easily be found in a packed club as in the concert hall.’

The Festival showcases music that you won't hear anywhere else. 'Our aim is to promote jazz on the Isle of Wight. Members of the committee will not receive any financial reward. Inspected accounts will be available on request. The committee will cover the cost of the main venues and headline acts. This will be funded by sponsorship, ticket sales and other fund-raising activities. Any subsequent profits will go towards funding future events. We will encourage other performances during the period. However, we will not act as agents. It will be the responsibility of the performers and venues to negotiate between themselves.' Held Early June.

We arrange regular live jazz gigs and festivals involving leading UK jazz musicians at first-class venues mainly in Clitheroe, the heart of Ribble Valley.
