‘HLOS has been staging shows for over 60 years. We are all amateurs who enjoy singing, dancing or acting (or all three!) and we are always keen to welcome new members. As well as those on the stage we also welcome those who would like to help in the many jobs which have to be carried out behind the scenes, and we always acknowledge that those who work with the stage crew as well as the many other behind-the-scenes jobs, are just as important as those on the stage if a show is to be a success ... At the society's Annual General Meeting in July 2017, it was agreed to change the name to Harpenden Musical Theatre Company, to reflect the wider variety of Musical Theatre available and to appeal to the modern day audience.‘
