Held Late July: 'Has rapidly established itself as one of the largest and most exciting events in the cellists’ calendar. Conceived in 2005 by Aboyne resident and cellist Myrtle Watt, the festival attracts students from all over the UK, as well as from Canada, Germany and South Africa. Our three inspiring tutors are also all top level performers, and the public face of the Festival – a series of 6 concerts in 8 days, is built round them ... The concerts take place in Aboyne, Tarland, Finzean and at Woodend Barn in Banchory.'

‘Haddo House is a Scottish stately home located near Tarves in Aberdeenshire, approximately 20 miles north of Aberdeen. It has been owned by the National Trust for Scotland since 1979 ... “Haddo Arts” is an exciting new organisation which brings a unique artistic experience to Haddo. Working with world-class artists and makers, with local professionals and communities, schools and other arts organisations, Haddo Arts will create a distinctive annual programme across the whole of Haddo – the House, the Hall and Country Park.‘ Festival held Early October.

‘Established in 1999 due to local enthusiasm for high quality live music in the classical tradition performed in rural settings and to a variety of age groups ... The main aim of the group is to bring concerts given by professional musicians to audiences in and around the Inverurie area. Inverurie Music also promotes educational musical activities, including workshops delivered by professional musicians in schools and other venues in Aberdeenshire ... Recently there has been an expansion of Inverurie Music's educational role in collaboration with Enterprise Music Scotland. Inverurie Music sets up workshops at local schools, instrumental groups and with the local orchestra.'
