'Exists for anyone of any age, background or ability who enjoys singing whether they consider themselves to be a "singaphobic", an expert or somewhere in between. No auditioning is required. Our motto is “generations singing together” ... Our aim is to go out into the community and further afield as a voluntary group and perform for any organisation who would like to be entertained and have some fun.‘

'Founded in 1989 by the amalgamation of Dalkeith Burgh Silver Band and Monktonhall Colliery Silver Band following the closure of both pits. New brass and percussion players are always welcome. We are a friendly but hard working and ambitious band and have a busy concert and contest schedule. We play an integral part of the East Lothian and Midlothian communities.'

‘Fiddlesticks (Tranent) was formed at Ross High in 2008, bringing together instrumentalists from 10 surrounding schools. The adult orchestra “Fiddlesticks Remixed” was launched in 2010 for parents, former pupils and adult musicians from our audience. Fiddlesticks (Dunbar) was launched in the Dunbar cluster in 2012. In 2015 all 3 orchestras were brought together to form one big orchestra ... A rock, pop, film and folk orchestra for musicians of all ages and abilities!  Great fun - all instruments welcome! Occasional concerts throughout the academic year. Parts for beginners through to advanced level.‘

Founded 1970: 'We enjoy singing a varied repertoire of major choral works, ranging from Vivaldi to Karl Jenkins, as well as carols, operatic choruses and modern popular classics. The Garleton Singers hold three main concerts a year (our Christmas Carol Concert a firm favourite for our Haddington audience), with occasional special performances.'
