‘Provides access to high quality music making for young people in the Tees Valley. We know that young people can bring about positive change in their lives and the lives of those around them by getting involved in making music. Therefore we work with some of those most in need – young people (age 10-24) living in challenging circumstances in the local authority areas of Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool and Redcar and Cleveland. We run several open access music groups for young people, we deliver intervention projects within particular settings, and we support music leaders by providing training and networking opportunities.‘

Shine! is a mixture of the traditional and contemporary with both competitive and non-competitive classes. This Festival is not so much a new idea, but a fresh look on a tradition that continues to thrive in other areas across the country and even internationally ... The Tees Valley has seen a strong tradition of competitive music festivals over the past 60 years, notably Stockton Music and Drama festival and Middlesbrough Music Festival, both of which have disbanded in the past 5 years. With financial support from a variety of individuals and organisations it has been possible to re-invent this new festival which will serve musicians across the whole Tees Valley.‘ Held Late April - Early May.

‘The Silverwood Band was formed in 1981, providing an opportunity for people across Teesside to play music together. The band was established by local musician, Allan Waller, with the band name originating from its silver and woodwind instruments, such as Clarinets, Flutes, Saxophones, Trombones, Tubas, Horns, Cornets, Oboes, Euphonium and Percussion and the area it was based in ... While some of our concerts are free, such as the ones in any of the North Easts Parks or Bandstands, we also perform for a lot of good causes and these concerts will have tickets available for them.
