Founded 2019: 'Howdenshire Music runs a regular free lunchtime concert series, held on the third Thursday of each month. Each concert features one or more professional musicians performing inspirational pieces of classical music. The concerts take place in the beautiful setting of Howden Minster, a magnificent historic church whose iconic tower can be seen for many miles around the area. We are keen to reach out to our wider community, offering chamber music in an exciting, informal and accessible way to people who may be less familiar with the experience of live classical music. Our concerts are friendly, inclusive and available to all, free of charge. As well as our regular lunchtime concert series, we also present other special one-off musical events'.

'Started by a group of ladies who "just wanted to sing" in September 1983, and we haven’t stopped singing since. We have developed into a mainly a capella mixed voice choir over the years comprising soprano, alto, tenor and bass.'

‘We are a mixed adult choir and we split into 3 sections - soprano, mezzo-soprano and alto, depending on your vocal range. Don’t worry if you’re not sure which section you belong in - we will help you with this ... Our concerts are not compulsory, but if you do decide to take part we have a dress code. Everyone is individual so we don’t have a set uniform, we simply ask that you dress in the relevant colours to your choir. The POP choir wear a black base with red accessories, and the SHOW choir wear a black base with gold accessories.‘

Junction combines three purposes – the administrative and civic base for Goole Town Council, a community centre and a busy mixed use arts facility, hosting a wide range of live events, cinema and satellite screenings, a workshop programme and activities that reach out into our community ... The programme of events treads a careful path to balance popular appeal with excellent and more challenging work. We are looking to build partnerships, not just attract customers. We firmly believe that we offer significant and sometimes life-changing opportunities ... For a small venue, in a small town, in an often-overlooked corner of East Yorkshire’s flatlands, we punch well above our weight. Junction was instrumental in the establishment of the Small Venues Network and is involved in many regional and national initiatives all with the single purpose of bringing the best possible arts activity to the town and embedding it into the life of the area.‘

‘The Shire Hall is situated right in the heart of Howden, overlooking the historic Howden Minster. It is a multi-functional building which is used for various events such as parties, fundraising events, live music, theatre and cinema. It is also home to classes including dance, karate, salsa, Zumba, theatre studies, and music classes.’
