'Formed in 1977 under the leadership of local grocer Mr Harry Cook at the local Thorngate Halls Community Centre. In 1981 the thriving Club built the organ chambers at the rear of the Ballroom stage for the purpose of installing the Compton Organ from the Regal Hammersmith. However, before this could happen the larger 3/12 Compton from the Gaumont Wood Green was obtained and the Hammersmith Compton was sold on ... This is one of the few locations that members can actually play a Compton Cinema Organ on a regular basis, a neccesity to keep this magnificent instrument in playable condition.'

‘Created in 2011 when two great local bands amalgamated. Gosport Silver Band has been a staunch community band supporting Gosport and the surrounding areas. With Gosport in the title it has been the band of choice for civic and community events in Gosport for decades. Solent Concert Brass was, for most of its history, a formidable contesting band and one of the finest bands in Southern England. It was widely recognised as a "factory" for quality players, taking children from the local community and turning them into some of the most sought after players in the area. Gsoport Solent Brass is a wonderful blend of these two fine traditions.’

‘The Singers are a community choir of around 35 members and specialize in entertaining local groups in such places as old peoples homes, hospitals, churches, etc. Around 50 concerts are performed each year, with a particularly busy time at Christmas when, within a 4 to 6 week period, some 30 performances are given. Enthusiasm and dedication, necessary for such a busy programme, rather than vocal ability, are the watchwords of the Singers.‘
