'A welcoming and friendly group of singers who rehearse once a week ... Rehearsals are normally held on Wednesday evenings from early September to July, with suitable breaks at other holiday times ... Rehearsals are normally led by our professional musical director and we have a professional accompanist. If one of them is not available the other will take the rehearsal, and we ask for even better discipline to help them. To be eligible to sing in any concert we expect a member to have attended a good percentage of rehearsals for that concert.'

‘The choir originally formed in 1961 by a group of Portsmouth Postmen, singing as they sorted the mail. Based at the Head Post Office Portsmouth, in 1974 the name of the choir changed to what it is known by today, The Solent Male Voice Choir ... Recently we have moved our base of operations to St Faiths Church Hall in Havant, where there are better acoustics, a great piano, and support from the church ... We are always looking for new members ...’

‘A Capella choir based in Emsworth, Hampshire, UK, of approx 34 mixed voices, specialising in Renaissance music, but also more contemporary composers such as Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen, Rutter, Poulenc ... We are delighted to welcome new members ... We encourage singers to attend as many rehearsals as possible and to be prepared to put in additional time at home for note learning. However, we have our own home-grown midi file page to help members to learn the current repertoire. It is very helpful if you can sight read music, and it’s essential that you can hold your own musical line. There are frequent opportunities for semi-chorus or solo work. Entry is on completion of a successful audition with the Musical Director.’
