We offer a varied programme of six or seven live performances by highly gifted professional musicians every year. Our seasons extend from the Autumn to the following Spring. The performances range from early music to contemporary, and the performers from solo instrumentalists to small chamber orchestras and choral groups.'

'Amateur orchestra, the members of which come from the Isle of Skye and in Lochalsh. Thus it serves a area of about 1000 sq. miles, with a population of only 13,000 ... There are two concerts a year ... Membership of the orchestra is open to anyone who can play an orchestral instrument from grade 4 and above and new members are welcome. (Difficult parts can usually be edited to suit the player, if necessary.) ... There is also a Skye & Lochalsh Schools' Orchestra the members of which are drawn from the area's primary and secondary schools, and some of these talented young players also play in the main orchestra.'
