‘Regarded as one of the leading amateur musical groups in the East Midlands, covering the Nottingham and Derby areas. Whilst our history spans over 100 years, we remain a dynamic group performing two musical productions per year with material ranging from the traditional Gilbert & Sullivan and Rodgers & Hammerstein, to modern shows such as “Our House, The Madness Musical” and our recent production of “The Witches of Eastwick”. We perform at the Duchess Theatre in Long Eaton.’

‘An enthusiastic group of over fifty men who enjoy singing together in the four-part close-harmony Barbershop style. NB the term “chorus” is the American term for choir. Our main reason for singing is entertainment, both for our audiences and ourselves, but we also take part in competitions from time to time. Over the years the chorus has enjoyed considerable success, for example, winning the gold medal on five occasions at the UK National Barbershop Convention ... In fact, the chorus has never been out of the top few positions in all the years it has been eligible to compete in this competition. Consequently the chorus has travelled to the USA on several occasions to represent the UK at the International Convention.’

'Formed in July 1988 from a nucleus of friends who had previously sung together the works of Gilbert and Sullivan on the Derby stage, but for whom a structured company no longer existed ... The annual stage production, in November, is generally one of Gilbert & Sullivan’s Savoy operas or similar. A major Spring Concert is presented annually in early May, where a much wider variety of musical genres is incorporated - songs from the shows, choruses from opera, choral arrangements of pop songs, comedy items, etc.; many more opportunities arise in these concerts for singers to perform solos than arise in the casting of the shows.'
