‘The Band was founded in late 1975 and gave its first performance in December of that year as a youth band. The idea of forming an adult band from the original group flourished, and in 1977 it became the Burnham Concert Band. The Band numbers some 40 musicians from in and around the area, all of whom contribute their musical skills outside their own work and leisure time. Seasonal concerts take place at Burnham Park in the centre of Burnham and in addition the band supports local summer activities at various locations.’

‘A mixed four-part choir, meeting weekly in the town centre, to release some feel-good, classical singing endorphins ... We sing a variety of choral works, both classical and modern. We are an amateur choir with professional conductor and accompanist, and we use professional soloists in our concerts ... Our members have a wide range of experience, and we do not require auditions. The ability to read music is useful but not essential.’
