‘The Band was founded in late 1975 and gave its first performance in December of that year as a youth band. The idea of forming an adult band from the original group flourished, and in 1977 it became the Burnham Concert Band. The Band numbers some 40 musicians from in and around the area, all of whom contribute their musical skills outside their own work and leisure time. Seasonal concerts take place at Burnham Park in the centre of Burnham and in addition the band supports local summer activities at various locations.’

We are an amateur choir with professional conductor and accompanist, and we use professional soloists in our concerts ... Our members have a wide range of experience, and we do not require auditions. The ability to read music is useful but not essential.’

Formerly Slough and District Operatic Society and laterly Slough Musical Theatre Company, as of November 2008, to reflect our work in the Maidenhead theatre community and also the diverse area our membership is from, we became ... Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead Theatre Company. We welcome performers from the age of 16 to 60+ who have a love of theatre and want to learn and gain experience taking part in some very challenging shows.
