'Over one weekend in June we will be singing like blokes, acting like men and getting to be one of the guys. BlokeFest is a festival by good Blokes for good Blokes, who like singing or think they might if only they could do it in the right way. Our guiding philosophy is that singing is a truly manly activity as long as you sing the right stuff, in the right way, with the right men ...'

'Since 1999 we have presented well over 100 shows (we have lost count) of the finest folk and roots music. Venues have been as diverse as a friend's sitting room, two churches, two school theatres, the town hall and the church hall. We do not receive any sponsorship but run with the goodwill of our regular members and friends.'

'Based in Aldbourne, originally formed in 1860 by the church organist. The Band's aim is to provide consistently high standards of music performances on both the concert and contest platform. The Band presents on average 14 concerts each year along with 4 contests which are essential in maintaining and testing the playing standards.’

'Based within the valley of the River Kennet , the orchestra is supported by an enthusiastic group of accordionists from the surrounding towns of Marlborough, Hungerford, Newbury and Swindon. We share a common passion for playing the accordion and as a collective, perform concerts, support charitable organisations and participate in music festivals throughout the local region and beyond.'

‘Aims to develop the appreciation and enjoyment of music, particularly singing, by rehearsing and presenting concerts. The continually expanding repertoire encompasses music from medieval times to the present, ranging from large choral works through lighter pieces to songs and carols.  We give concerts in churches and other venues in Marlborough, and occasionally further afield, such as Malmesbury Abbey.’

'We are a friendly orchestra that draws people of different ages and with varying levels of playing experience. We offer a supportive environment which is ideal for anyone who hasn’t played in an orchestra before or who wants to brush up their skills. We only ask that players are Grade 6 standard or above, as our repertoire is challenging. The concert programmes are a mix of major symphonic works by composers such as Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Brahms, Beethoven and Rachmaninov and lighter pieces such as songs from the shows, Christmas music and film scores.'

Music at Marlborough offers something very special. It embodies everything you might expect of an inspired, energetic and forward-thinking department but with that little bit extra that makes us a prospect worth investigating. "Inclusive" and "exclusive" are our preferred terms - inclusive in that we offer a musical opportunity to every age and stage, exclusive in that we provide unique programmes of study to those who wish to pursue music as a future career.'
