‘Although the idea of re-starting a Traditional Club has been brewing for many years, we have always stumbled over the perennial problem – a suitable venue. With so many of the bigger pubs with function rooms closing it looked very much like the idea was nothing more than a pipe dream till the newly refurbished Bird in Hand opened, and what’s more, the landlord and landlady ... were very keen on our ideas. We aim to bring to Stafford some of the very best traditional Folk performers, not just people who are the household names of the folk world, but also up and coming spectacular new talent.’

‘Presents regular evening recitals of recorded music on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, from September until May ... The evenings consist mainly of classical music, with a bit of jazz thrown in for good measure from time to time, and include an interval for tea and biscuits. The majority of the recitals are presented by our members and about a third are presented by visitors from other local music societies. New members and visitors are always welcome at our meetings.’

'Well-established orchestra performing around 3 concerts each year in and around the town of Stafford and often branches to other venues around the county of Staffordshire itself. Made up of a mix of professional musicians and very enthusiastic amateurs, the orchestra plays music from all eras, including modern works and first performances. We often provide a platform for local composers and soloists, with a particular emphasis on encouraging young musicians and audiences.'
