'A friendly venue to perform or listen to live folk/acoustic music every Sunday ... Floor spots are what it is about most weeks so come along and give us a go. It is like an open mic. A chance to perform one or two songs maybe more. It depends how many people come along. What have you got to lose? When we have a guest performer, which is around once a month, floor spots are limited to the first half. It is a friendly place with a listening audience.'

Founded 1910: ‘Membership is open to both acting and non-acting members so whatever your preference you'll find something to enjoy on or off stage. As well as doing a major musical once a year, usually at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton or the Gladstone in Port Sunlight we do a spring variety show and also have a thriving concert party ... It has been the aim of the Society in recent years to present the most modern shows as they become available, with revivals of favourite “oldies”, and at all times to offer to our patrons first class performances; if we have succeeded in pleasing our many friends we are well satisfied, and we hope to continue to present live shows so long as theatres exist in which to play’.
