'Founded in 1956 ... We present evenings of classical and light classical music on CD played on first class equipment. Programmes are presented by the members themselves and we have three guest speakers each season, usually professional musicians who talk about their lives and careers.'
‘Waltham Forest Music Service is the lead partner in Waltham Forest Music Education Hub (WFMEH) which was established in 2018. The Waltham Forest Music Service gives children of all ages and abilities the opportunity to: learn to sing; learn to make music with others; fulfil their potential in music.’
'London's friendliest folk ... Doors open at around 7:30. We have floorspots and the band up until our main guest who appears at around about 8:15 for the first of their two sets. We aim to finish at around 10:30. An evening at the club is a relaxed affair with plenty of time for chatting and meeting new people. We also have a raffle and a selection of CDs for sale including rare and hard to find albums.'
‘CADOS is a friendly, thriving amateur theatre group based in Chingford on the East London/Essex border. We stage two musicals or plays a year ... We have two types of membership - Active and Patron .. You need to be over 16 years old and to pass a company audition to become an Active CADOS member. This is in two parts: a simple acting audition (e.g. a short monologue or poem) and a singing audition for those wishing to perform in musicals (you will need to prepare a short piece and bring along a backing track or sheet music unless you wish to sing unaccompanied) ... We're always looking for people to assist backstage or front of house too, so please get in touch however you would like to be involved!’
‘We are a friendly company and have fun but our aim is to put on the very best productions we can. We pick shows that many other companies wouldn’t, like “Honk!” and “Hot Mikado”, as well as the old standards. Our greatest strength is our ability to work together as a group and perform with joy and vibrancy together. We are noted for our ensemble singing and high production standards and our ability to work as a team on and off stage.’
'Has gained an impressive reputation for the high quality and vitality of its performances, and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014/15. Originally the Leyton Municipal Orchestra, it was reconstituted under its current name in 1964 by its first Artistic Director, Frank Shipway. The first President was Zoltan Kodaly, followed by Sir John Barbirolli, with an illustrious list of patrons including Leonard Bernstein, Sir William Walton, Benjamin Britten and Lorin Maazel and soloists including pianists John Lill and Stephen Kovacevich. Today, the orchestra continues to perform with top artists ... and also gives opportunities to young musicians in the local Waltham Forest community through open rehearsals and a participation programme ...'

‘A fun, uplifting and modern choir for the people of E17 who love to sing. No need to be able to read music, with a focus on sounding great and feeling great. Popular music you’ll know, but not necessarily songs you’d expect ...’ Formerly Choir 17.
