Our intention, which has now been realised, is to own a working Wurlitzer Theatre Organ, by purchasing and fully restoring the ex Rex Cinema, Stratford, London Wurlitzer Organ and installing it in the Royalty Cinema, Bowness-on-Windermere. This is now a real jewel in the crown for Cumbria as we understand that there are no longer any other Wurlitzer Organs situated in a working cinema in the UK ... The organ is played before selected film presentations and for concerts.’

'One of the leading choirs in South Cumbria and the Lake District with members coming from Ambleside, Windermere, Grasmere, Hawkshead and Coniston. We are a very friendly choir whose members really enjoy singing and we are always very keen for new members to join us. We normally perform two major concerts in the year, one in December and the other in May and take a break during the summer months of June, July and August. There is a modest fee for singing with the choir which can either be paid annually or at the beginning of each term.'
