‘Formed in 1996 ... presenting high quality concerts in North East Wales ... Without a “fixed” membership or set weekly rehearsals, our players come together for only a few rehearsals before each concert. This gives us the flexibility to provide any size of orchestra to suit the repertoire we play or to fit into any venue.’

‘Formed in 1957 specifically to compete at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod. Since then we have performed throughout the UK and have travelled extensively in Europe, the USA & Canada. We have also visited China, Hong Kong & Israel. We've taken part in many competitions & won a significant number of prizes as well as making several cassettes and CD's. We are a registered Charity and have helped raise many thousands on pounds for many diverse deserving causes. One of our recordings, “Calm is the Sea”, helped to raise over £10,000 for the Royal National Lieboat Institution. It is one of the Choir's proudest boasts that a number of its members have gone on to take up singing as a career.‘

'The WSO has grown to its present day membership numbering over sixty players and regularly attracts professional guest conductors and outstanding soloists. The increase in membership has allowed the orchestra to undertake increasingly ambitious programmes of music and in increasingly important venues. Since 1997, the orchestra has been resident at the prestigious William Aston Hall in Wrexham.'

'One of the finest examples of ecclesiastical architecture to be found in Wales. There is documentary evidence of a church here as early as the 11th century, though the building in its present form dates mainly from the end of the 15th and the beginning of the 16th centuries ... The present organ was built in 1894 by Foster & Andrews of Hull. It was fully restored in 1984.'
