‘We are an amateur group which meets ... to play classical orchestral music for the personal pleasure of our members. However we do give occasional concerts to provide the opportunity to present the music which we have been studying in recent months. These are usually associated with orchestral days to which we invite other competent players, who are not able to attend on a regular basis. Though our performances may not achieve perfection, we hope that our enthusiasm and inclusivity may bring freshness and insight to the music.’
